Hi all...new here. Just purchased a 2012 sweetwater 1770. 17ft x 7 wide. It can hold 8 people. We live on a small 112 acre lake where they only allow electric motors. I want to take the small gas engine off the pontoon boat and use it in this lake. I dont need anything crazy just want something large enough to power the boat into the wind if there is any (very little current in the lake). I am looking to put a terrova 80 lb motor on the boat as that is what Minn Kota seems to recommend for a boat that size. Will that be powerfull enough. Not looking for speed just want to tool around with a full load of people on it. Thanks.
