How to select and install a depth finder

I have just bought a sweetwater 1570 and would like to fit it with a depth finder instrument. Can you advise on the most suitable instrument and on mounting the transducer.

my factory installed transducer is off the port side rear toon on a bracket that seems to be there for that purpose. First time at the boat ramp it drifted into a piling and broke off
but otherwise it works well. 6

We needed to replace ours as well this last year. The entire cable from the depth finder to the bottom of the boat has to be replaced. You first need the model of depth finder to order the cable and transducer.1

I tried the suction cup type transducer. I'll just say, that was a stupid mistake.
